Why does Reclip use more memory (RAM) each time I add another clip item?
Unfortunately, Reclip does use system ram for holding your reclip items. I am thinking of implementing a database with the next version of Reclip, which would resolve the resource problem, but will impact the speed somewhat. Until that time, I have the following suggestions for improving Reclip's performance:
  • Limiting the size of text in your Reclip options to something like 10,000 characters.
  • Images can take up a lot of memory, especially screen prints of high-color displays. Disable images in your Reclip options, unless you will need them. Also, cleaning up (deleting) your unneeded images, will free up memory.
  • Limit your maximum number of history items in the Reclip options. The default is 100, but 50 may be adequate for your needs.
